Balloon Field is an experiential art piece I designed and built to display at the Gray Area Foundation for the Arts. The piece creates a space for viewers to walk through rows of floating balloons that move up and down to varying heights at changing intervals. In the process of creating this piece, I programmed several Arduino microcontrollers, 3D printed some spools to attach to each motor, and built the housing units to hide away everything but the balloons and strings. It was created with the intention of invoking nostalgia and childlike wonder.
