Brigade is a social network for politics. Its mission is to increase civic engagement and increase high quality political discourse amongst constituents from the local to federal levels of American government.
In their main news feed, users were able to see user-generated posts but were unaware of the quality and amount of discourse within each post. I redesigned these cards to let users preview the content within each post, and to encourage them to engage when there had not yet been much discussion.
We were able to significantly increase engagement on each card and also the click-through rate to individual posts. The visual redesign of these posts also helped guide further improvements to other content in the news feed.
